Five-time Paralympic Games Medalist, Jason Dunkerley
Jason Dunkerley works as a Senior Advisor in the Public Services and Procurement Canada Accessibility Office. Jason has been a member of Canada’s Para Athletics team since 1998. He proudly represented Canada at five Paralympic Games and is a five-time medalist in middle distance track. He is also one of the founding members and a previous President of Achilles Ottawa.

A Community Awareness Event
A fun, interactive and inclusive experience …
On August 27, 2022, Achilles International Canada (AIC) held its first Community Awareness Event at Woodbine Beach.
A fun, interactive and inclusive event, it provided an opportunity for others to learn about and potentially join AIC’s dedicated group of Achilles athletes, guides and volunteers,
Our early morning run/walk/roll at the Beaches enjoyed some newcomers, who were paired with experienced guides to enjoy the distance of their choice. Afterwards, there was a chance to participate in simulation activities for those who were interested in experiencing what it feels like to walk, run or roll as a person with a disability.
Many stayed for the food and social connections. It was truly a great day for individuals and groups from the disability community. Thanks to everyone who attended. We look forward to more opportunities to share our story.

Where: Virtual – Location of your choice (suggested Beaches route starts at the Woodbine Beach parking lot to the Leslie Spit Weigh Station)
Note: Donations raised by Achilles International Canada (AIC) were allocated directly to our community.
